WALKING ON SUNSHINE
When the evening light angles low on the water and the shadows deepen, colours turn rich, and light dances and sparkles to see out the day.
This egret is walking across just such a stage, with a golden backlighting, and a beak stabbing into the white shimmer of the lit water. The foreground light is blurring into a myriad of golden circles, and there is a precise spot between the legs where the sun is reflecting with a dazzling radiance.
It would seem that the water is a universe of light and shadow, planets and moons, cold and fire: an abstract stage of delight.
This is pure theatre!
